Here are answers to the most common questions and issues related to LaunchBox licensing.

1. "Invalid or Expired" License Error

Why does this happen?

  • Using an outdated license: If you've renewed or upgraded your license recently, you may still be applying the old expired file. Visit our Lost License page to receive the most current version of your license file:

    You’ll receive separate emails for Windows and Android licenses, each with the correct License.xml attached.

  • Using a Regular License with an unsupported version: Regular Licenses are valid for a year of updates from the date of purchase. To check, open your License.xml and look for:

    <forever>false</forever>

    If that’s present, and your license is over a year old, it won’t work with newer versions. You can renew for $15 or upgrade to Lifetime for $45 here: 👉 https://www.launchbox-app.com/renew

  • Mixing up platforms: Your Windows and Android licenses are not interchangeable. Even though they’re both named License.xml, each is platform-specific. Be sure you're using the right file. Your license email will explain which version of LaunchBox it’s for.

2. Lost License Retrieval

No need to contact support! Retrieve your licenses here:

Enter your email, and you’ll receive any associated licenses via email for the product you purchased.


3. Name or Email Change on a License

Reach out to us at support@unbrokensoftware.com for name/email update requests.

🔒 Note: Licenses are personal and non-transferable. Some examples of justifiable reasons include:

  • Privacy concerns (e.g., streaming or YouTube content)

  • Incorrect name on the license

  • Losing access to your original email


4. Refund Policy

We offer refunds within 14 days of purchase. That said:

  • The free version of LaunchBox is powerful enough to evaluate the software.

  • Big Box offers unlimited 30-minute trial sessions.

We encourage users to try before buying. Your purchase directly funds continued development, so thank you!


5. Requesting an Older Setup File

Need the last supported version for your license? Email support@unbrokensoftware.com with your name or license email, and we’ll get you set up.


6. Applying Your License (Windows)

If you're confident the license is correct (and for the right platform), try one of these methods:

Method 1: Drop It In the Folder (Recommended)

  • Close LaunchBox completely.

  • Copy your License.xml into your LaunchBox installation folder.

  • Reopen LaunchBox. It’ll be auto-applied.

Method 2: In-App License Window

  • Open LaunchBox.

  • Click the FREE LICENSE button in the top-right.

  • Use the Browse button to locate and apply your License.xml.

  • Success! Your license info will now be visible, and the button will update to say:

    LICENSED TO [YOUR NAME]
