Sync Playtime from Other Storefront Launchers

📋Summary

Introduce support for importing and syncing playtime data from various PC storefronts—such as Amazon Games, Epic Games Store, and others—similar to the Steam & GOG playtime sync feature introduced in LaunchBox 12.5. This would ensure more accurate tracking across multiple devices and installations.

❗Problem

Currently, playtime data is only automatically imported from Steam & GOG. Other storefronts (Epic, Amazon, etc.) do not sync their usage statistics with LaunchBox, requiring manual updates or relying on inconsistent device-based cloud syncing. For users running LaunchBox across multiple PCs or setups, this creates discrepancies in recorded playtime.

💡Proposal

  • Expand the playtime sync feature to support other major storefronts that track usage stats locally or via cloud

  • Detect and import available playtime metadata directly from installed launchers where supported

  • Optionally allow the user to choose whether LaunchBox or the storefront’s value should be considered the “source of truth”

  • Sync this data as part of the existing cloud sync workflow for consistency across devices

🔄Targeted Storefronts

  • Epic Games Store: Games often store playtime locally in cloud config files

  • Amazon Games: Also tracks total play hours per title within the launcher

  • Ubisoft Connect / EA App / Battle.net (future support possible)

✅Benefits

  • Ensures consistent and accurate playtime tracking across devices

  • Reduces manual tracking effort, especially for non-Steam users

  • Makes use of already available data in third-party launchers

  • Supports more complete game stats and library management for completionists and stat-focused users

  • Brings parity between Steam and other major launchers in LaunchBox’s tracking ecosystem

Certainly looking forward to this, and hoping xbox gets added to the list of storefronts where playtime gets synced

Unfortunately this isn’t something that’s bubbled up to the top of the request list yet, so unfortunately we can’t guarantee when it might get looked at.

Feel free to add any additional use-cases from your end, and we’ve got it fleshed out here, so hopefully can get some more support
