Persistent “Hide Uninstalled Games” Option

📋 Summary

Add a persistent global option to hide games where the Installed field is set to No, similar to the existing Hide Hidden Games and Hide Broken Games options.

❗ Problem

LaunchBox already allows users to filter by installed status, however this only applies to the current view or filter configuration.

As users navigate between:

  • Platforms

  • Playlists

…the filter does not persist globally, meaning uninstalled games continue reappearing throughout the interface.

For users with large PC or launcher based libraries, this creates clutter and makes browsing currently playable games more difficult.

At the moment, users must repeatedly:

  • Reapply filters manually

  • Create workaround playlists

  • Or leave uninstalled games visible everywhere

💡 Proposal

Add a persistent global visibility option similar to existing hide systems.

Example location:

  • View > Hide Games > Hide Uninstalled Games

Behavior:

  • Games with Installed = No are hidden globally

  • Persists across:

    • Platforms

    • Playlists

    • Searches

  • Functions similarly to:

    • Hide Hidden Games

    • Hide Broken Games

Users can toggle the visibility at any time without losing metadata or collection organization.

🧩 Use Cases

  • A user only wants to browse currently installed and playable games

  • Archived or uninstalled titles remain stored in the library without cluttering browsing

  • Big Box becomes cleaner and more console-like

  • Discovery Center recommendations only show playable games

  • Large Steam or launcher imported collections become easier to manage

📦 Benefits

  • Cleaner browsing experience across the entire application

  • Removes the need to constantly reapply filters

  • Preserves metadata and organization without deleting games

  • Better separation between owned vs currently installed content

  • Particularly valuable for large PC gaming libraries

⚠️ Considerations

  • Should behave consistently with existing hide systems

  • Needs to apply globally across LaunchBox and Big Box

  • Could potentially support quick toggle shortcuts in the future

    Option to Hide Uninstalled games

In Launchbox (and Bigbox) in “>View>Hide Games” add an option to hide games with “installed” set to “NO”

Sometimes I want to see what I have without having to install the games and without having to delete them from Launchbox since I want to keep some custom metdata, also good for searching playlists and the discovery center on Bigbox.
