Make playlists visible

Please make playlists visible when clicking a game.
This way I can tell if the game has already been assigned or not.
Thanks

While we would love to do this (it’s been a request we hear from time to time), game’s currently have no idea which playlists they are currently in.

Therefore, this would be a high effort, systemic change to how the app stores playlist data.

One question I have for you is where would you expect to see this data, can you elaborate on different scenarios you would be going through in the app that you would benefit from this? The more information you can provide here the better benefits that myself and other users voting on a feature like this will see.

Things to keep in mind to voters, this would be a high effort change that would take many weeks, and would systemically change the way playlists are stored in your data files. The risks are also high that during that process something will most likely break during the beta phase and people may lose some playlist data.

not OP, but I’ll add my answer:

I think I would prefer a playlist assignment audit UI. Specifically, some type of streamlined grid view solely focused on which games appear in which playlists, with an option to filter by playlist, platform, favorites, genre and probably most importantly, orphans. Orphans being defined as games which appear in no playlists.

This would be helpful to spot oddities like “wha? How come 1944 is showing up in my Favorite Puzzle Games playlist?” or “I know I have more schmups than what my ‘Favorite Schmups’ playlist is showing me. The games are definitely marked as favorites, so where are they? …oh, 20 of them are orphaned because their genre is set weird.”

I personally would expect it when I right-click on the game and go edit, add to playlist —> any playlist it’s in should either not be there, or have a different look so I can easily identify that the game is already in that playlist.
