Add Filters for Release Year

Summary:

Add the ability to filter games by Release Year in LaunchBox’s filter options 📅.

Problem:

While LaunchBox already stores metadata like release year, these fields aren’t currently available in the filter sidebar. This limits how users can browse or organize their collections—especially those who want to explore games from a specific era

    2.) does select random game work within the context of the applied filters? I am hoping to do is select a random game from my backlog but filtered by release date so I can say select a random game to play released within the past ## years.


    Yes, if you go to Tools > Select Random Game it will highlight a game that is within the currently displayed games. So if you’re in a platform, or if you’ve applied a specific filter, it will only pick within those results.

    I’ll re-do this request to focus on the filter by release year since that isn’t possible currently

    I see there is still no official public api for howlongtobeat and you have tried to reach out to them to no success. I don’t know an alternative source to suggest so point 3 can be removed. I will try in the plug in…Can the filters be updated to access custom fields? If so, I could filter on game length that way and if select random game works within the filter then it gets where I was hoping to go.
