Add “Play Version With” Option for Additional Applications
📋Summary
Expand the right-click context menu to include a “Play Version With” option for additional applications, allowing users to select an emulator and configuration at launch—similar to how the main game currently supports “Launch With.”
❗Problem
While LaunchBox already allows assigning a specific emulator to each additional application, users cannot dynamically choose a different emulator or configuration at launch for additional apps.
This limits flexibility for scenarios where users might want to launch the same additional application (e.g., a game clone or alternate version) using different controller mappings, display setups, or emulator configurations—without needing to manually reassign settings each time.
💡Proposal
Add a “Play Version With” right-click menu for games with additional applications
When selecting an additional application, allow choosing from a list of available emulators and configurations (just like the “Launch With” menu for the main application)
Retain the default emulator for quick launches but provide advanced users the flexibility to override it when needed
Example workflow:
Right-click a game → “Play Version With” → choose the additional app (e.g., Street Fighter II Clone)
Select an emulator profile (e.g., “Arcade Stick Setup” or “Gamepad Setup”)
✅Benefits
Offers dynamic emulator and config selection for additional apps
Enhances support for varied hardware setups like arcade sticks, gamepads, and TV/monitor outputs
Reduces the need to manually remap buttons or create duplicate additional apps
Keeps the workflow consistent with the existing “Launch With” flexibility for main applications
Improves usability for arcade fans, power users, and collectors with complex setups 🎛️🕹️✨

Hello, AstroBob!
Perhaps I didn’t express myself clearly (English is not my first language), but I think the feature description isn’t quite what I was suggesting.
The ability to choose an emulator and a specific configuration for each additional application is already possible in LaunchBox currently (and that’s already awesome).
My suggestion is to add a "Launch with" option for additional applications via the right-click menu. At the moment, there is a "Launch with" option for the main application, and through the "Play Version" option, we can choose an additional application to launch (with its default emulator). My suggestion is to add a new option — for example, "Play Version with" — where we can select the additional application and, in an extra menu, choose the emulator.
As an example, I enjoy playing Street Fighter II Champion Edition both through the main application and some of its clones. Sometimes I prefer to play with a Gamepad, and other times with an Arcade Stick. However, currently in LaunchBox, each additional application has a single predefined emulator, with no option to choose another one. In this example, my additional application is configured to play with a Gamepad, and every time I want to play with the Arcade Stick, I have to remap the buttons.
Besides button mappings, other configuration variations might also be useful for the same additional application, which is why I believe the "Play Version with" menu would be relevant.
Apologies if I wasn’t clear the last time. Was the explanation better this time?
Thank you! Best regards,
AstroBob

Enable "Play with" Option for Additional Applications
For the same reasons we might want different ways to run a game (different controllers, configurations, video outputs, etc.), it would be desirable to have this option available for additional applications as well. For example, Street Fighter II Champion Edition has several legitimate clones, but I can't choose which joystick to use because there's only one emulator option for additional apps.
