Create Fanart categories for every image type missing BOX 3D, LOGOS, and reconstructed for carts.
Long-time gamers know that some users only want artwork that's as faithful to the original as possible, while others enjoy having their collections presented with a consistent visual style that reflects their preferred region. This results in a large number of fan-created 3D boxes, clear logos, cartridges, and other artwork in the database. The problem arises when we see that there are no separate categories for logos or 3D boxes that replicate the look of retail releases versus those created by fans. This leads to a constant battle between those who want to promote their fan art as regionally legitimate and those who want to omit it entirely and only use it when no real artwork is available (digital games, homebrew). Adding categories for fan art for 3D boxes and clear logos should be a priority to avoid having dozens of fan art pieces mixed in with real images. On the other hand, it's almost impossible to offer completely clean cartridge images adapted to Launchbox's visual presentation without using templates and partially reconstructing them. However, there are still users who may prefer the authentic ones, even though they are much more difficult to create or find. Since there are only categories for "cart" and "fanart cart," any reconstruction based on real carts gets mixed up with the fan art. It's also essential to create a "reconstructed" category for carts.

Heya, thanks for the suggestion here. We have plans to address this, but not by simply adding new categories, but by introducing a tagging system that would allow you to tag any existing category as fanart. I’ll merge this request into that one so you can stay updated with it’s development

Anything not based on official data and official art should be labeled as fan art, even screenshots of fantranslated roms or alternative names that are simply fan translations. As if it weren't enough that the official categories are flooded with fan art mixed with real-life recreations, now it's happening with the names. I'm seriously fed up with seeing nothing being done to prevent the database from becoming a playground for those who want everything with English names and US art.
