I’m going to mark this specific request as completed for now, but I know there was talk about the scope of this being more than just a shortcut to select a random game.
If that is still of interest for people, please do submit a new request with your thoughts and ideas and we’ll make sure to get that one fleshed out too.

I do like the idea of this, but id enjoy the idea of it having an overlay that pops up, this could be partially customisable by the theme makers so they could have it with curved boxes styles like logos or different shapes to make unique but still a nice interface for it.
Apologies for the tacky mock-up but i would imagine it would be you press to accept to boot the game or press the back button to return to the screen that is underlaid.

I like the idea, although this would very much balloon the effort required for this feature to be done, and I’m wondering if the effort involved wouldn’t be worth the value in the end vs. adding the hotkey.

I assume this kind of set up is what you are looking for:
Add a keyboard and controller mapping called: Select Random Game
When you enter into a game list, pressing the button would instantly navigate to a random game on your list

Exactly! There is a button mapping to “spin the wheel” and currently I use that… but it’s not really random.

With the release of 13.22 Big Box now supports a Random Game action for keyboard and controller inputs to quickly jump to a random game.
