Improved Disc Selection for Multi-Disc Games
šSummary
Add a more intuitive way to launch specific discs for multi-disc games, replacing the current method where each disc is listed under Additional Applications using raw file names. This would provide cleaner navigation and a better user experience
āProblem
Currently, LaunchBox lists additional discs as separate āAdditional Appsā using their file names. This approach creates clutter and makes it hard to identify the correct disc, especially for less technical users. Thereās no native interface to pick which disc to start with when launching a multi-disc game.
š”Proposal
When importing a multi-disc game, group all discs under a unified game entry
Automatically label each disc as āDisc 1,ā āDisc 2,ā etc., rather than using file names
Present a āChoose Disc to Launchā option either on game startup or through a context menu
Hide this option for single-disc games for a cleaner experience
ā Benefits
Simplifies launching specific discs in multi-disc games
Reduces confusion by avoiding raw file name exposure
Creates a cleaner interface without bloating the āAdditional Appsā section
Aligns with other disc-related improvements like smarter swap handling and visual cues

Hiya, thanks for the request and apologies for the delayed follow-up here.
Iād love to know a bit more about how youād envision this working, since there are a few ways we could go about this:
1) Simply provide better renaming to discs that get created as additional apps, so that they are more easily recognisable?
2) Seperate discs from additional apps, so as not to bundle them together
If you have any ideas how youād envision this working Iād be happy to help flesh out this request

Thanks I think, an extra menu should be available only for multi disc games allowing you to choose which disc you want to chose and the disc should not be named after the file name but maybe just ādisc 1ā.
