Activate the working mamemess core in Android

on latest Retroarch the mamemess core works and I confirmed with the GamePark GP32 platform. However the exported GP32 platform fails to remember the mamemess_libretro core and get stuck on the launching screen after it opens Retroarch without launching the game.

  • My process to have the GP32 running on retroarch android is the same for mame (in Retroach first then on launchbox):

  • use mame softlist GP32 roms.

  • put them in Games/gp32 (important to be “gp32”

  • Add the bios gp32.zip to the folder

  • Add Retroarch playlist by manual import using the mame hash gp32.xml in system/mame/hash folder and disable scan inside zips.

  • set core to mamemess.
set core cpu to 30% or less for full speed. 100% runs slow, no idea why on rp5.

  • On Launchbox pc I use the thirdparty import mame software list plugin to export the initial platform .xml and images then replace in the xml:

    • <DefaultEmulatorCore>mamemess_libretro_android.so</DefaultEmulatorCore>
and remove each rom <emulator> Line to match the native imported platforms.

I attached the video on Retroid pocket 5 for more details.
I guess it should work for most mess platforms
      Cheers.
(PS: this new feature submission system don’t handle adding the bullet points well. And sorry for the android message nag possibly due to recording)
